ADOPT A DOLPHIN
How can YOU help protect the dolphins of
Koombana Bay?
Why not adopt one of your own? We’ll send you a
kit of information about the Centre and your dolphin and
you’ll be helping us to continue our important research,
conservation and education programs.
By adopting a dolphin you will be
helping the Dolphin Discovery Centre to:
- Educate the public about dolphins and the
environment in which they live
- Increase awareness of the need to protect
dolphins and all other marine mammals
- Observe and study the dolphins to better
understand their complex lives and monitor the impact of humans on
the dolphins and the Bay
- Provide opportunities for people to interact
with wild dolphins in a supervised setting where no harm will come
to the dolphins
- Assist the Department of Conservation and Land
Management in the rescue and rehabilitation of stranded or injured
dolphins and other marine life
The Adoption Package
Our Adoption package gives you the opportunity to
receive updated information and provides the Dolphin Discovery
Centre with financial support. The major adoption program details
are below:
For a AUD$50.00 commitment you
receive:
- An exclusive Adoption Information
Portfolio
- 12 month subscription to the Dolphin Discoverer
Newsletter (issued every 6 months)
- Three updates of your adopted dolphin for the
year
- Subscription to the Dolphin Report e-newsletter
(this is also available to anyone who registers online)
- A special certificate with your name and the
name of the dolphin you have adopted
Where Your Sponsorship Money Goes
The AUD$50 commitment goes into the production of
the information and the forwarding of the updates. The remainder of
the money goes into our research, education and conservation
projects. These vary from time to time and a great way to keep
informed is to check on the website each week and catch up with the
latest news items.
