DOLPHIN DISCOVERY
CENTRE
The Dolphin Discovery Centre
is a non-profit organisation committed to dolphin research,
education, conservation and tourism. The Centre was opened in
1994, and is the first Centre in Australia dedicated entirely to
dolphin research.
The Centre is located in Bunbury,
a thriving city approximately 180 kilometres south of Perth in
Western Australia. Facing Koombana Bay to the North, the Centre
enables people to interact with Bottlenose dolphins in a variety of
ways.
There are up to 100 dolphins
living in the Bay and groups of them regularly visit the shallow
waters in front of the Centre.
WHERE DO YOU FIND US? In
Koombana Drive, Bunbury. Travelling from Perth ... As you
approach Bunbury there is a very large roundabout, take the third
exit, this is Koombana Drive. We are 2.1 kms along on the right
hand side. Travelling from the south ... it is a more direct
approach if you take the Bunbury By-pass road which is Robertson
Drive. Continue through the traffic lights until you come to the
large roundabout, then take the second exit. Once again we are 2.1
kms along on the right hand side.
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO
DRIVE? From Perth - allow 2½ hrs ... from Busselton &
Dunsborough - 1 hr ... from Margaret River - 1½ hrs ... from
Augusta - 2 hrs.
